The rumour mill has been alight over the past 48 hours since Celtic dropped more points in the title race and fell further behind their city rivals.

We reported earlier today, the chief journalist at Record Sport claims Gordon Strachan has been sounded out for a potential transitionary period between a Lennon regime and whoever is next.

Now, Irish based journalist, Phil Mac has claimed three managers have been approached by Celtic in recent times with a view to taking over. The investigative reporter claims two candidates have asked for digital rundowns of the team and footage from the club.

Phil only named one manager in the article; Eddie Howe, who is currently out of work.

The journalist writes in his article that his comfort level talking about a job vacancy which isn’t there at the moment and we’d reiterate that point.

While many might want Neil Lennon to bow out, we’re seeing a Celtic legend at what appears to be a low ebb and has run out of answers. If anything, Neil Lennon deserves our respect, even if you think his time is up.

For the board, if they believe that, if Dermot wants to go in another direction then they absolutely have to be looking at options and they should have a decent plan in place for this kind of situation.

We await the club’s decision but right now Neil Lennon is getting his team ready for a game against Sparta Prague.
