Celtic have cooled any interest in Argentine midfielder Fausto Vera after securing Aaron Mooy on Tuesday afternoon.

Mark Hendry of Football Scotland has had a prolific summer when it comes to Celtic exclusives and he’s now reporting a deal for the Vera looks to be off the table for now.

Mooy isn’t the traditional defensive midfielder many Celtic fans were looking for this summer. However, Ange obviously believes Aaron can serve his squad well and that’s good enough for us.

The Scottish Champions announced the double signing of Aaron Mooy and Mortiz Jenz on Tuesday, much to the delight of the Celtic support.

Defensive cover with Jenz, who Celtic has been tracking for over a year at this point. The Bhoys have an option to buy the player at the end of the loan deal. If he impresses as much as CCV did last season, we could expect to see another loan turned into a permanent deal next summer.

Fausto Vera might be a player Celtic look at further down the line with the club discussing his acquisition on more than one occasion this summer.

We suspect the club might be done with incomings unless something comes up they can’t turn down.
