CELTIC have been doing all they can to try and keep a hold of one of their top defensive talents who could be on the cusp of a first team call up in the next year or two.

Liam Morrison, 16, is one of Celtic’s top defensive talents coming through the ranks, but not for much longer according to Football Insider who have claimed sources a the club have told them the youngster is on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich.

It has been known for some time there has been interest in the player from the Bundesliga giants but Neil Lennon was hopeful Liam would opt to stay at Celtic with the club working on a new contract for the player.

However, Football Insider reports:

“A Celtic source has told Football Insider that the club’s hopes of keeping hold of Morrison, who has one year to run on his youth registration, have failed.”

It would be a blow for Celtic to lose such a talented player but they are at the mercy of some pretty big sides. If Bayern want a player, they can certainly flex their financial muscle and offer players from Scotland something different.
