Celtic defender Carl Starfelt has opened up on his favourite aspect of being a Hoops player, insisting that the supporters and the atmosphere they create is the most enjoyable part.

The Swedish defender has become a reliable central defensive option for Ange Postecoglou after joining from Russian side Rubin Kazan.

Alongside Cameron Carter Vickers, the 26-year old has arguably been one of the most improved performers in the side, settling in nicely into life as a Celtic player.

Speaking in a fan question and answer session on the club’s official Twitter account, Starfelt opened up on his favourite part of being a Celtic player, with fans hearing a similar point made by many a player in the past about the atmosphere created on a matchday.

The Sweden internationalist was also asked who his favourite Swedish players were growing up as a youngster, and Starfelt named the famous Hoops number seven Henrik Larsson as a man he loved to watch for the national side.

After experiencing a year without supporters last campaign, this season has felt really special to many fans making a long-awaited return to football games.

That has added to the atmosphere in some sense that Starfelt mentions, with the buzz of being back at Celtic Park being further heightened for that reason.

Hopefully, the Parkhead crowd are able to boost Ange Postecoglou’s side as we prepare to enter the final stages of the season and with the squad still challenging for a further two trophies.
