While football has been giving a cease and desist order around the world it has allowed Celtic Football Club a chance to put the spotlight on players past and present a little bit more. Earlier, the official club site spoke with last summers signing Greg Taylor.

The youngster took a while to get his first-team chance under Neil Lennon and he has shown enough signs in the handful of games he has played to allow fans to think it was another piece of shrewd business by the club.

Taylor came to Celtic to fill in a crater size hole that the outgoing Kieran Tierney had left. Not that anyone thought they had signed a KT replacement. The player himself has been able to pinpoint the game that got his season on track.

“It was great getting a good run of games and helping out with some assists as well so it was a really enjoyable period for me,” he said. “In terms of highlights this season, the period since returning from Dubai was the most enjoyable. It was the longest that I was in the team.”

“That started off with beating St Johnstone 3-0 away. We played great and I had a good game myself. That probably helped me settle into the team and get a run of games. That game was really important for me and for the team as a whole.”

Nobody knows when they will get to see their Hooped heroes again but Taylor feels the club have mastered the art of fitness but feels some sort of pre-season will be needed when football returns.

“We’ll need a sort of mini pre-season when we go back. The staff have it down to a fine art and they’ll know exactly what we need when we go back. The way the boys have kicked on since Dubai shows how much these sort of training camps can benefit everyone.”

The way things are going the Bhoys could be returning to a full pre-season at the end of the summer.
