Jack Hendry hasn’t had much luck in recent times. Not being able to make it through into the Celtic first team and then when he wins a loan move to Melbourne, he suffers knee ligament damage.

It was during Hendry’s first game for his loan side when the injury struck.

The defender has since gone under the knife and judging by his manager’s comments, Jack could be back ahead of schedule.

“Jack is getting better. I hope we will see him in five or six weeks, but I can’t say this for sure.” Erick Mombaerts Told SunSport.

“He is in first rehabilitation phase.”

This would be very surprising to see the Celtic player back so soon after serious surgery.

However, if Jack is looking to win a full time deal with the Australian club then he’ll have a small window to do so upon his recovery.

It looks likely Celtic will cut their losses with the former Dundee player in the summer. It’s important Jack gets fit and playing for the good of his own career and next move in the game.
