Celtic are so desperate to offload their flop left-back Boli Bolingoli this summer. The player isn’t even scheduled to return to Lennoxtown at the moment.

A source has told CeltsAreHere, the defender and his representatives have been told by the club Boli is free to find a new home with just one-year left on his Celtic deal. We’ve also been told there has been conversations about ripping up his deal if nothing materialises.

The 26-year-old hasn’t done much in a Celtic jersey since his first season at the club when Neil Lennon was in charge. The Belgian hasn’t recovered from his jaunt to Spain during the height of the pandemic where he got two of Celtic’s games postponed as a result. In the following months we would see other clubs get away with rule breaking while Celtic continually were made an example of.

Boli was sent out on loan to Russia at the back end of last season but failed to play a single game — his time cut short due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Bolingoli spent the final part of last season back in Belgium where he was staying fit with a personal trainer. He has no future at Celtic but when he finally leaves for good is still up in the air.

Salary Sport have the left-back’s wages clocked in at £15kpw — that’s £780k still due to the player if he wants to wait out his contract. Perhaps a deal will be struck.

  1. He has the worst first touch of a football I’ve seen in a professional player, his ball control is down there with the likes of Craig Gordons, though at least Craig excelled where it mattered in his position!

Glad to see the club are cleaning house!

There’s no room at Celtic for passengers! For too long we’ve been ‘shrinking the shirt’ to fit inferior players, and it needs to stop!
