Daizen Maeda’s remarkable season has seen him sweep up individual honours and climb to the top of the Scottish Premiership’s market value charts.

The Japanese international was voted PFA Scotland Players’ Player of the Year and also collected the Scottish Football Writers’ Association award, capping off a memorable year in green and white. His relentless work rate, sharp movement, and clinical finishing were key factors in Celtic’s title-winning campaign.
Initially deployed out wide at the start of the season, Maeda moved into a centre forward role following Kyogo’s departure to Rennes. The tactical adjustment proved decisive, with Maeda stepping up to fill the void and becoming Celtic’s main source of goals at a time when the squad needed consistent goals.
Although there are still two years remaining on his current contract, Celtic are eager to reward the 27-year-old with a new deal to reflect his growing importance to Brendan Rodgers’ side. The club remain firm in their stance that only a substantial offer would make them consider parting with one of their standout performers.
Maeda’s outstanding form has also been reflected in the latest Transfermarkt valuations, where his market value has risen by €4million to €15million (£12.8m), making him the Premiership’s highest-rated player.

Celtic dominate the upper end of the rankings, with Cameron Carter-Vickers (€14million), Reo Hatate (€13million), Arne Engels (€12million), and Nicolas Kuhn (€12million) all closely following their teammate in the valuation table.
With interest likely to grow, securing Maeda’s long-term future remains a priority for the Hoops this summer.
