You can’t blame all of us for getting excited when Tom Rogic was out getting some fresh air at Lennoxtown on Friday.

The Australian hasn’t kicked a ball for Celtic since Boxing day last year before he headed off to the Asia Cup where the midfielder sustained an injury which would delay his return to action. While Rogic was out doing some very light work he was not training with the rest of the team and hasn’t done any sort of strenuous activity yet.

Speaking about the Aussie and Callum McGregor, the Celtic manager said neither were training.

“He’s not training, no” Neil Lennon told CelticTV.

“He’ll be hopefully on the grass next week as McGregor will be hopefully”

McGregor had been ever-present in Celtic’s side this season until a hamstring injury took him out.

Both players being missing is massive for the club and having them back next week means they both could be in a position to play in the Glasgow Derby at the end of the month.

Celtic have been managing well in their absence but there have been a few games the bhoys have had to eke out results and not be as comfortable as they’d like.
