The pair have been key figures in Brendan Rodgers’ side this season, with Carter-Vickers a consistent presence at the heart of defence when fit and Trusty coming in and out of the team. Now, both are in contention to represent their country as the USA aim to reclaim the Gold Cup title for what would be an eighth time.

Carter-Vickers, capped 20 times, is no stranger to international duty, while Trusty, who has four appearances to his name, will be eager to solidify his place on the international stage..

The USA are drawn against Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saudi Arabia in the group stage, with the final 26-man squad set to be confirmed on June 6. The tournament is a continental competition for men’s teams across North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was having his minutes managed by Brendan Rodgers, and if he is to make the squad on June 6th, it would suggest that he’s gotten over his fitness issue.
