Celtic duo Callum McGregor and James Forrest have sent their message of thanks, to departing captain Scott Brown ahead of his final game at Celtic Park this Wednesday.

Speaking to the club’s official website, as Brown’s 14-year stay at the club prepares to come to an end with his final two games this week, the former academy graduates sent their message of gratitude to the 35-year old.

James Forrest

“Broony all the best for the future, my man.

“I just wanted to say, it’s been a pleasure training with you, playing with you and working with you over the years. You’ve done so much, you’ve helped me so much, you’ve taken me under your wing during so many successful years.

“It’s been a great time to look back on and I wish you all the best in your new role up in Aberdeen. Take it easy!”

Callum McGregor

“Broony, just a quick message to say a big thanks for everything you’ve done at the club.

“You’ve been an unbelievable player, an unbelievable captain and unbelievable guy.

“To have had such an amazing career at this club takes real responsibility, real quality, real class, and that’s everything that you possess.

“So, just a big thank you from everyone at the club and from myself. You’ve been unbelievable.”

Brown is a character who will have played a massive part in many players career’s over the past 14-years during his time at Celtic but in particular, these two.

As both started as academy players and grew into first-team regulars, Scott Brown was there every step of the way for the duo, playing alongside McGregor most weeks and having a good relationship with Forrest.

There is no doubt, his impact as captain of this club will be missed. At this stage, there is even a chance that either of these two players could be the ones to replace him as the next man to wear the captain’s armband.
