Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that two of his first team stars are on the mend and due back in training on Thursday.

The Irishman admitted it will be glad to have both Leigh and Jonny back in the fold.

“He’ll (Griffiths) return to the squad to train on Thursday. Him and Jonny Hayes have been out for a while now so will be good to have them back on Thursday.”

This will give the manager some relief after finding out Moussa Dembele will be out of action for at least two weeks.

Speaking about this time of year, when qualifiers come around, the Irishman spoke of the difficulties involved.

“This period of the season is always tough. Managers and players expected to be in full flow in one to two weeks up here. We have to do our best to get as many of the players through this phase of the season fit and strong whilst also trying to qualify.”

Celtic are all set to face Rosenborg tomorrow night with somewhat of a makeshift team due to Jozo’s suspension and injuries. It’s inportant whoever comes in makes the most of it.
