Celtic will find out who their opponents are for the last 16 of the Viaplay Cup later today. Along with Aberdeen, Rangers, Hearts and Hibs, the Hoops are entering the competition at the knockout stage.

The draw for the next round takes place this evening, following Dundee’s clash with Inverness at Dens Park. It will be on Viaplay. Celtic are seeded for the draw and their possible opponents include Partick thistle, Livingston, Ross County, Kilmarnock, St. Mirren, Stirling Albion, Morton and either Raith Rovers or Dundee. All of the last 16 ties will be played on the weekend of the 18/19th of August.

It will be a key target of Brendan Rodgers to retain the league cup. It is the first piece of silverware available in the season and securing it usually bodes well going forward. The Bhoys need to be victorious in just four games to secure it once more, starting with their upcoming last 16 tie.
