VASILIS BARKAS looks to be heading out of Celtic this summer, only featuring twice this season.

The keeper hasn’t lived up to his £5 million price tag, ultimately becoming a waste of money. Celtic will likely be forced into selling him for a fraction of the fee they splashed on bringing the former AEK Athens player to Celtic.

With Joe Hart the starting goalie, Scott Bain signed a new contract at Celtic to provide backup to the Englishman. Tobi Oluwayemi is highly rated and is currently the B team keeper.

But Celtic still believe it’s necessary to bring another goalkeeper to the club if Barkas does leave this summer, according to reports.

Celtic have been linked to Bosnian goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj by the Scotsman. Celtic will only make an official bid for the player if Barkas makes his anticipated exit this summer.

The internationalist currently plays for St. Pauli. The 26-year-old has started thirty-three games for the second division side this season, keeping seven clean sheets.

The keeper has European experience, playing in the Europa League group stages, with his former side drawn beside Leicester.

He’ll likely come into the club to push Bain for the backup jersey.
