Alexandro Bernabei looks as though he has departed Argentina and is on his way to Celtic Park.

Hoops fans keen on seeing his arrival at the club have been keeping a close eye on his journey with the defender departing his native Argentina last night to head for Amsterdam  where he will catch a connecting flight and jet into Glasgow.

The Twitter account @aboutceltic shows the flight heading off from Bueno Aires at 19.30 last night with the flight already landing in the Dutch capital this morning.

Once he arrives on Scottish soil, the 21 year old is expected to complete his medial and sign for Ange Postecoglou’s side on a five-year deal for a fee understood to be £3.75 million. [Daily Record]

The timeline of when Bernabei will be unveiled is yet to be revealed but tomorrow may be more likely once everything is signed and done.

He will become Ange Postecoglou’s fourth permanent signing this summer alongside Daizen Maeda, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Benjamin Siegrest.

Things are now beginning to shape up nicely for the Celts with many players who didn’t compete for their international side expected to return to Lennoxtown next week.

It was imperative that Celtic upgraded the left-back position in this window as there is no proper depth  or competition with Greg Taylor being the only trusted choice.

With all eyes set towards the Champions League, quality and rotation will be key for the Hoops and this is a signing everyone will be very pleased with.
