CELTIC are facing an anxious wait this afternoon to see if they will have one of their best players, Kristoffer Ajer to call upon during the home leg of their Europa League tie with AIK.

The player had to go off in Celtic’s extra time win against Dunfermline at the weekend with the player going over on his arm.

Neil Lennon seemed confident the player would be okay but there’s a little doubt over the defender’s status with the physio team still to give Ajer the all clear.

Thursday night is a vital game in the context of the season for Celtic and to have Ajer out would be a major blow for all.

The Norweigan has been one of the stand out players for the club over the past 12 months.

The defender was seen at the Edinburgh fringe on Sunday night so hopefully that is a good sign there’s nothing long term about the injury.

Celtic still have Tom Rogic to come back from injury and Daniel Arzani is still at the club and training ahead of a potential run in the team before his deal ends in May.
