Celtic Reserves fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to their Glasgow rivals this afternoon in the 12 pm Glasgow Derby game.

Hopes were high the young players would be able to overcome the Ibrox side but two goals from Glen Middleton made sure of all three points for The Rangers in a frustrating afternoon for the Bhoys.

Karamoko Dembele and Armstrong Oko-Flex both started the match alongside Mikey Johnstone and Ewan Henderson but it just didn’t go to plan on the day. Jack Hendry also started the tie but went off injured early in the second half shortly before Middleton’s first goal.

Celtic pushed for an equaliser in the second half and came close but the more they pushed the more they left themselves exposed and they were punished with a late decisive second goal.

This squad have been flying high in the Reserve league with current champions Hibs breathing down their neck.

It will be a learning curve for a lot of the Bhoys this afternoon who will certainly want to bounce back after this defeat.
