After the meeting was confirmed earlier this week between Celtic and Cluj we’ve been treated to a deluge of comments coming from their camp which can’t be categorised as respectful.

The noises Cluj are making ahead of the two teams meeting next week means these two clubs are never going to be friends. I think they’re trying to play mind games with Celtic while Neil Lennon and his men just get on with business. Celtic are used to their football rivals talking a lot of nonsense in the media only for them to be turned over when the time came.

The nail in the coffin of the Cluj/Celtic relationship is the prices they’re charging Celtic fans for the game this week in Romania. If you are one of the faithful travelling Celtic support it will cost you €40 for a ticket on Wednesday while the home club charges their fans just €10 to watch the same game.

We understand the business of football but the disparity in price between the two sets of supporters is poor. Celtic fans will pay the price like they always do regardless.

Celtic have been entirely respectful since the two teams were paired together. We hope that doesn’t extend to the field and we take the game to Cluj from the off on Wednesday evening.

  1. We simply must eliminate this team. No excuses. No hiding, no half hearted no shows from any of our players. Go there and do enough damage to all but finish the tie
