The Celtic Fans Collective has issued a pointed response following Peter Lawwell’s announcement that he will step down as Chairman at the end of 2025.
Reacting to the news, which broke on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Celtic’s crucial midweek clash with Dundee United, the group took to social media, posting a brief but loaded message:

Lawwell cited the increasing abuse and threats directed at him and his family as a key factor in his decision to leave his role after three years as Chairman and 18 as Chief Executive.
His exit comes amid sustained fan protests, including chants of “Sack the board,” banners at Celtic Park, and growing criticism over the club’s direction under the current leadership.
While the club condemned the abuse as “completely unacceptable,” many fans have been calling for sweeping change at boardroom level.
The Celtic Fans Collective’s reaction suggests they view Lawwell’s resignation as the first step in a broader push for reform within the club’s hierarchy.
There will be a lot more reaction to come, but the squad and management team could do without all this distraction as they head to Dundee to face Jim Goodwin’s side.
Dundee United are struggling for form just now, but it will be no easy match for Wilfried Nancy’s side, who have just suffered three straight losses.
