CELTIC FANS will watch another patched-up side take to the field against Livingston this afternoon in the hope they can pull a win from somewhere. The bhoys were so close on Monday to the three points before poor defending let us down.

The youngsters brought in did well considering their notice and lack of game time this past year.

One move Celtic made on Monday was to recall Scott Robertson from Gillingham. Scott was loaned out at the start of the season to Gillingham and here’s or man Lewis Laird to give you his report on the player’s credentials:

The 19-year old spent the first half of the season in League 1 with Gillingham, having an impressive spell He featured for Steve Evans side 19 times overall and Gills manager spoke highly of the young midfielder during his time there

From what I watched or Robertson at Gillingham, I was impressed. He showed good sides to his technical game, in a tough league Whilst also showing he had that other side to his game, with some grit in the midfield.

At times, he was a little inconsistent and had a few injury problems but that comes with being a young inexperienced player Especially in a division like League 1. He will have learned a lot from this spell, developing different sides of his game.

I was surprised to see him recalled. Even with a depleted squad, there are options there, with the likes of Connell and Henderson If he isn’t going to play or get many first team minutes, he should probably be sent out again to continue that development. Possibly in the SPFL.

Come next season, I believe there’s a chance he could play a part for the first time. At this stage there so many factors that could impact that However, development should be the most important thing right now and similar to Doohan, wouldn’t be surprised to see him go out again.

While Scott looks more like a player for next season, Celtic fans could be in for a pleasant surprise today if he can get some game time. This is Scott’s best chance of some game time. It’s unlikely he’ll start with Soro and Turnbull available but if we can get ahead, there’s every chance Scott can come on and show us what he’s made of.

The game kicks off at 3pm this afternoon.
