Celtic Fans have crashed the club’s online shop this morning after the club officially unveiled the new limited edition fourth kit.

It was Celtsarehere.com who broke the story last week that the club would be bringing out this special origin’s effort as a fourth kit.

After the club made the early morning announcement, the site immediately came under immense pressure. A queuing system with over 6000 people waiting to get into the shop appeared on the portal.

When we attempted to gain access to the site, a fatal error came up. The site continues to glitch.

So what’s all the fuss with Celtic’s New Adidas Kit?

Celtic are branding this an ‘origins’ kit that celebrated the club’s Irish roots. The Irish tri-colour prominent on the collar and sleeves of the design.

Here is the official press release the club sent the site.

Recognised around the world, Celtic Football Club is a Scottish sporting institution with proud Irish origins.

In the year of Celtic’s 135th anniversary, this new Limited Edition emerald green Celtic shirt celebrates those proud Irish origins.

The shirt features colours on the collar and sleeves that are synonymous with Celtic and Ireland, the four leaf clover sits proudly on the chest, plus the club’s original crest, the Celtic Cross features on the back neck of the jersey.

Celtic Park is a place where our supporters come to celebrate the Celts from across the globe, and we continue to welcome generations of fans in their thousands from the island of Ireland to support the Bhoys at Paradise.

Wherever you support Celtic, join us in celebrating the club’s origins this St Patrick’s Day by proudly wearing the famous colours of Celtic Football Club.

We haven’t had official confirmation, but it’s thought Celtic will wear this kit just one time against Hibernian at home in a couple of weeks time. That’s if the kit can be registered and the club get the OK from the SPFL.

Some fans will bemoan this kit as a cash grab by Adidas and Celtic. Collectors of Celtic merchandise will no doubt love it.

The club appear to be moving to an American style business model when it comes to merchandise under Adidas. Special edition kits and training gear regularly coming out throughout the year.

What do you think about the new Celtic jersey?
