Celtic fans will be delighted at the sight of midfielder Tom Rogic returning to first-team training as the Hoops star gears up for action this weekend against Motherwell.

The 28-year old has been a key part of Ange Postecoglou’s midfield. However, he missed the Hoops last three fixtures against Hearts, Dundee United and Rangers after being called up for international duty with Australia.

On Friday afternoon, Rogic made a return to Lennoxtown, with Celtic releasing footage of the Wizard of Oz and his teammates getting to work ahead of the trip to Fir Park on Sunday.

Although fans are buzzing to see Rogic back and in contention for selection, a bit seems to have changed since he was last in action, with his place in the side now well and truly up for grabs.

The performances of Reo Hatate and Matt O’Riley have staked a real claim in the middle of the park, giving Ange Postecoglou some choice to select from, which is an exciting prospect going into this weekend.

It will be interesting to see whether Rogic start against a side he has had great success up again in previous years. One thing is for sure, though, whoever does start in that position, there will be another waiting to come on if needed during the game.
