Celtic have not had many attacking players on the bench to call on with so many injuries plaguing the side.

For the past two weeks, we have had one striker first out of three and have been struggling for midfielders into the bargain.

The starting XI has been as good as it gets for the Hoops. Ange has not had the luxury of turning to his bench for a game changer.

Aginst Raith Rovers tonight, Celtic fans could and are likely to get their first glimpse of a potential game changer.

Gorgios Giakoumakis is going to be on the bench for the same against Raith Rovers and could come on at some point to give Celtic a very different output from Albian Ajeti.

Ange has been careful with the Greek striker to this point. He only had a short pre-season with Venlo before his Celtic switch and is yet to play a competitive match this season.

Easing him into life at Celtic Park in front of the fans is probably the right call but it has been frustrating we’ve not been able to see the new man yet.

Ange’s methods and training are very high intensity and it doesn’t surprise us it’s taking players longer to get up to speed.

Kyogo and Abada have been the biog exceptions. Kyogo was halfway through a season, naturally fit and was an Ange signing for sure. Abada has hit the ground running, his energy and youth rubbing off on the side.

Hopefully, Giakoumakis can show the sort of form that made him top goalscorer in the Dutch top-flight last season.
