Celtic fans can expect new faces in hoops this week, according to Ange Postecoglou. Speaking to the Daily Record he revealed that a ‘couple’ of deals are to be expected over the course of this week.

“I’m hopeful that over the next week we bring in at least another couple. We need players and we are working hard to get them in.”

Who could these players Ange hopes to sign? Joe Hart is now closer to completing his move north of the border after Celtic learned the fee Spurs are hoping to receive. The 34-year-old is hoping to revitalise his career. [record sport]

Another player Celtic are in discussions with is Aurélio Buta, the right-back currently plays with Royal Antwerp.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed both players are still in ‘talks’ with the club.

Ange uses the word ‘at least’ meaning a deal for other targets could be close to completion.

Last night, three players were given their league debuts after signing in the summer window. Liel Abada started on the wing after playing in Celtic’s Champions League tie, Carl Starfelt made his first start for Celtic despite only attending one training session and Kyogo Furuhashi came off the bench after his isolation period ended on Saturday Morning.

For many years now, the board have been too slow with their signings, more often than not completing business too late.
