Celtic fans know that they have been blessed so far with one loan signing in Filip Benkovic. He has proved his worth already on the place that matters most, the football pitch.
The big Croat has won hearts over off the pitch too. He proves over and over again that he just gets Celtic and what it’s all about. The only downside to his Parkhead stay so far has been injury problems. The big center half is currently out for up to five weeks with an ankle injury. But the player has used a famous Jock Stein/Lisbon Lion quote on his Instagram to keep himself motivated.
Benkovic has so far made 26 appearances after coming in on loan from Leicester who paid £13million plus for Filip in the summer from Zagreb. He hasn’t put a foot wrong in a Celtic jersey and between himself and Boyata they shored up the defence. He will be a huge loss for Celtic’s upcoming European clash.
Celtic fans have already started to dream about keeping him beyond his loan deal but a 13 million price tag is way above any Celtic budget and there is no reason for that price to come down.
