Footage has surfaced showing several Celtic players who were not involved in the match celebrating with supporters inside the Broomloan Stand during the dramatic Scottish Cup tie at Ibrox.

Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston were all in the away end watching the game alongside Stephen Welsh, who is currently out on loan at Motherwell. With the match stretching to extra time and then penalties, the group remained among the travelling support for the full afternoon.

The video shows the players standing beside an access door within the stand as Celtic fans gather around them. Supporters can be heard urging the players to join in the celebrations as the tension of the shootout builds.

Johnston eventually responded to the crowd. The Canadian defender began jumping along with the supporters as they sang and chanted, clearly enjoying the atmosphere inside the packed away section.

He then grabbed a Celtic scarf and waved it toward the crowd, drawing a louder reaction from the fans around him. The moment captured the mood among the travelling support as Celtic secured a major victory.


The players in the stand were not part of the matchday squad but had travelled to the stadium to support their teammates. Carter-Vickers has been dealing with injury, while Johnston and Ralston were also unavailable for the quarter-final clash.

From their vantage point in the Broomloan Stand, they watched as the match finished goalless after 120 minutes before the game moved to penalties.

When Tomas Cvancara scored the final spot kick, sending Celtic through to the semi-finals, the celebrations among the away support erupted.
