Former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has found himself at one of the most iconic venues in the club’s history after taking his new side, Al Nassr, to Lisbon for pre-season.
The Australian is back in management after a brief spell away from the dugout following his departure from Nottingham Forest.
Having spent part of the summer working as a pundit during the World Cup, Postecoglou was appointed by Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr, where he now manages Cristiano Ronaldo and a squad packed with international stars.
Now, his preparations for the new campaign have taken him somewhere that will always hold a special place in Celtic folklore.
Al Nassr are currently training in Lisbon and have been based at the Estádio Nacional – the stadium where Celtic famously defeated Inter Milan 2-1 to win the European Cup in 1967.

It was there that Jock Stein’s Lisbon Lions became the first British club to lift European football’s biggest prize, securing their place in football history.
The visit comes at a fitting time, with Celtic celebrating the 60th anniversary of that famous triumph throughout the upcoming season.
The Australian delivered five trophies during his two seasons in Glasgow, transforming the club after arriving in 2021 and restoring Celtic’s domestic dominance before departing for the Premier League.
And now he’s back, revisiting a historic place for the club. I wonder if that’s crossed his mind as he walked out of the tunnel.
