Julian Araujo has offered a glimpse into his recovery work after taking to Instagram while dealing with his thigh injury.

The on-loan Celtic defender, who has already been ruled out for the rest of the season, shared footage of himself receiving treatment as he looks to get back to full fitness. His campaign at Parkhead has come to an early end after just thirteen appearances, with injury cutting short any chance of building momentum.

Araujo has now shifted his focus away from club football and towards recovery, with the World Cup firmly in his sights. The timing is tight, and his decision to seek specialist help shows how serious the situation is.

The 24-year-old is currently working with Mexican sports physiotherapist Erick Rodríguez, a well-known figure in his field. Rodríguez has built a reputation in Mexico for his work with athletes, particularly in injury recovery and rehabilitation.

Araujo’s decision to work with him points to a more intensive approach. Rather than standard club treatment, he is now in a setting focused on speeding up recovery and regaining match fitness as quickly as possible.

Rodríguez has previously outlined his approach in simple terms, saying: “Change happens through movement, and movement heals!!” That philosophy centres on active recovery, with a focus on getting players moving early in the rehab process.

For Araujo, that could be key. Thigh injuries can be difficult to manage, especially when a quick return is the goal. There is always a balance between pushing recovery and avoiding setbacks.

From a Celtic point of view, his time at the club has already come to a close. Martin O’Neill confirmed he will not feature again this season, and he has since returned to Bournemouth.

The focus now is entirely on whether he can recover in time to put himself back in contention for international selection, with the next few weeks likely to decide that.
