Martin O’Neill has made a complete change to his Celtic side at half-time in the club’s pre-season opener against Shelbourne.

With the match locked at 0-0 after a fairly even first 45 minutes, the Celtic manager opted to replace his entire starting XI as he continued to build fitness across the squad.
Taking to the field for the second half are:
Viljami Sinisalo, Liam Kennedy, Maik Nawrocki, Liam Scales, Adam Montgomery, Kyle Ure, Arne Engels, Luke McCowan, Thomas Hatton, Francis Turley and Shin Yamada.

As is often the case in pre-season, the focus is less on the scoreline and more on giving players valuable minutes ahead of the new campaign.
The opening half offered few clear-cut chances, with neither side able to take control for long periods.
Now, a fresh XI has the opportunity to impress Martin O’Neill as Celtic continue their preparations for the season ahead.
There will be particular interest in players such as Maik Nawrocki and Shin Yamada, who have plenty to prove during pre-season as they look to stake a claim for regular first-team football.
There’s no Reo Hatate in the squad.
With wholesale changes made, the second half should provide a very different look to the Celtic side that started in Dublin.
