Celtic Make Decision on Striker’s Future

Tomas Cvancara made a January loan move to the Hoops from the Bundesliga side, making 13 appearances and scoring two goals.

The highlight of his short time in Glasgow was converting the winning penalty to knock Rangers out of the Scottish Cup at Ibrox.

He came off the bench to assist Yang on his debut, a 2-2 draw with Hearts in Edinburgh.

He also appeared in the Europa League knockout phase against Stuttgart.

However, he sustained a groin strain, which ruled him out of all the club’s post-split fixtures as Celtic found form at the perfect time to clinch the Premiership title.

Cvancara had a £7 million option to buy clause included in his loan deal, but Celtic have informed Monchengladbach that they won’t be taking up that offer, according to German outlet BILD. 

That won’t come as a surprise to many supporters, given his form.

The Hoops are in the market for much-needed quality, recently being linked with Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Benjamin Tahirović, who is set to star at this summer’s World Cup. 

There is also interest in Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Høgh, who scored goals in the Champions League against Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan.

Interest in Go Ahead Eagles’ Jakob Breum has been reignited, but their CEO, speaking directly to CeltsAreHere, confirmed that there has been no concrete bid as of yet.
