The Green Brigade might be locked out of Celtic Park by the club hierarchy, but that hasn’t stopped them showing why their influence stretches far beyond ninety minutes of football.

Their annual Christmas foodbank drive returned on Sunday before the Hearts game, delivering another remarkable haul for families across Glasgow.

The numbers tell the story: £20,059.15 in cash will be distributed to foodbanks in the coming days. On top of that, eight full vans of food were collected and sent straight to organisations that fight every week to keep households fed. A staggering effort that reflects both the generosity of the Celtic support and the scale of need in our communities.

The Green Brigade shared their gratitude on social media, posting a graphic with the totals and writing, “Thank you to every supporter who donated food or cash on Sunday. Your generosity will go a long way for families across Scotland this Christmas.”

This is not a one-off. The group have run these festive collections for years, each time producing extraordinary support for families who rely on foodbanks to get through winter. It is as sobering as it is inspiring. Glasgow and the wider UK are facing deepening poverty. Foodbanks have become an essential lifeline. They should not need to exist, but they do, and groups like the Green Brigade continue to meet that reality head-on.

The backdrop matters. The Green Brigade remain banned from attending matches by the Celtic board, a decision that continues to draw a strong reaction across the support. Yet amid that dispute, they delivered a community effort that reflects the best of Celtic’s social identity.

This drive was about families who need help, children who deserve a proper Christmas, and easing the burden on people who are struggling. The group delivered that and more. Credit to the Green Brigade and to every fan who contributed. Here’s hoping unity is restored inside Celtic Park before long.

    Easy to throw accusations about, but can you prove it by showing everyone that it’s actually true.

    I do not agree whatsoever with their use of pyrotechnics at any of our games, but if your going to accuse them, of STEALING THE MONEY, THAT WAS HANDED IN BY THE GENEROSITY OF ALL THOSE CELTIC FANS, THAT’S THEN USED TO HELP THOSE WHO NEED IT THE MOST.

    Show us the proof that you must have, saying the GB dip their hands into the money giving by the celtic fans, that they then use it to buy their pyrotechnics.

    It’s easy to work out that you hate the GB so much, that you’ll say anything to blacken their good name, which I assume you believe every single word, that our board has to say about the GB, because they try to do the exact same as you have, to make out the GB are the worse fans in the world, they tell lies about the GB as well, like they did at the last AGM, which had the desired effect of blaming the GB for the AGM to close early, and then release another statement afterwards, accusing them by telling more lies, lies because they have not showed any evidence of what they were wrongly accused of.

    The only reason they attack the GB just now, is they stand in the way of thos board being eventually ousted from their cosy offices and jobs, next it will be other celticfans groups, who will challenge the boards right to be at the club, then the next one and then the one after that.

    Then folks like you will be found out, as the boards sympathetic toolbox, their to attack any fan groups who oppose the board being in office.

    It’s the members of the board who are hurting the very being of celtic football club.

    After all one or more of the board, allowed our absentee landlord to use the official celtic site, to release his shocking attack on one of his so called friend, a man easy manipulated by a certain board member, who told him a pack if lies, that eventually led to Rodgers leaving prematurely, all because that dame member of the board, who was responsible for Rodgers leaving the last time around, was responsible for him leaving early once again.

    It was our absentee landlord that persuaded Rodgers to come back for another time as manager, that same absentee landlord must have given Rodgers cast iron assurances, that the exact same thing wouldn’t happen again, and it didn’t all because thst dame board member hated Rodgers with a vengeance, that he made sure he wouldn’t see out his 3 yeah contract.

    And that same board member hurt celtics chances of gaining access to the CL, by not replacing the players celtic sold, thar weakened us so much, but in his eyes it was well worth it, because he got what he had worked on since day one of Rodgers return to celtic.

    That’s what happens when one guys vision isn’t forcelticdoing good, no his vision was only on Rodgers, and a way of getting rid of him, AT ANY COST EVEN AT CELTICS COST, THAT’S WHERE WE SIT JUST NOW..A MESS MADE WITHIN THE 4 WALLS OF CELTIC, A MESS THAT LIES SQUARELY AT ONE MANS FEET..NOT THE GB, THEY ARE JUST THE FIRST STEP AT STOPPING ANYONE, ANY FANS GROUP WHO OPPOSE THIS BOARD LED BY A MILLIONAIRE MANIAC, HELL BENT AT STOPPING AT NOTHING AS HE LEADS THE LINE TO QUELL ALL DISQUIET WITH THE FANS GROUPS AT CELTIC, WILLING TO PIT ONE FAN GROUP AGAINST ANOTHER ONE, HE DOESN’T CARE AS LONG AS HE CAN STAY EMPLOYED BY THE CELTIC FANS.

    AS JOCK STEIN ONCE SAID, A CLUB IS NOTHING WITHOUT IT’S FANS (or near enough) KEEP DOING WHAT THEY ARE DOING, IT WILL END UP LIKE IT DID IN THE PAST, WHEN THE FANS WALKED AWAY LEAVING HUGE AREAS OF THE STADIUM EMPTY, THE WHOLE TOP STANDS WERE CLOSED, THEN IT WAS AGAINST THE WHYTES AND KELLY’S, THEN IT WAS AGAINST POOR POOR MISMANAGEMENT, THIS TIME IT’S ROUGHLY THE SAME, ONLY THIS TIME ITS ON THE BACK OF 13 YEARS OF NON STOP SUCCESS, ONLY THIS TIME THE BOARD IS ON THE VERGE OF THAT CONTINOUS SUCCESS COULD CRASH TO A COMPLETE STOP, ALL BECAUSE OF ONCE AGAIN MISMANAGEMENT, A BOARDS REFUSAL TO INVEST IN THE CLUB, A BOARD WHO REFUSES TO RELINQUISH ANY OF ITS TIGHT GRIP ON HOW THE CLUB IS RUN.

    THAT REFUSAL IS HURTING THE WAY THE TEAM IS RUN, THEY WANT TO RUN IT THEIR WAY, REFUSING TO ALLOW THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW BEST, THE MANAGER AND THE PEOPLE MORE QUALIFIED THAN THE BOARD ARE..RANT OVER 😡😡😡😡😡😡
