The Green Brigade were back at Celtic Park for the win over St Mirren, and their return brought both noise and a clear message.

After months away, their section was active again, and it added something to the ground. The backing for the team was there from the start, especially during spells where the game needed a lift.

There was also a statement aimed at the board. During the match, a banner reading “Celtic board unfit for purpose” was displayed, showing that the issues between supporters and the club have not gone away.


It came in a game where Celtic had gone ahead but never fully took control. As the second half went on, the tempo dropped and the crowd became more involved in what was happening on the pitch.

That is when the support matters. The noise picked up again late on as Celtic dealt with crosses and set pieces around their box.
