Hassan has become a name to keep an eye on after impressing for Egypt on the world stage. His display against Argentina appears to have added further attention around his situation, although Celtic’s interest is claimed to have been in place before that match.
There is also competition to consider. Tsarouchas claims Spanish and English sides are also in the race for Hassan, which could make the deal more complicated if Celtic’s interest turns into a formal bid.
The winger fits the type of profile Celtic have looked at in recent windows. He is quick, direct and capable of playing off the right, giving the squad another wide option at a time when more attacking quality is needed.
Martin O’Neill has already made it clear that Celtic need additions, with Camilo Durán now set to become the first signing of the window after linking up with the squad in Portugal.
Hassan would represent a different kind of attacking option. He is not a striker, but his pace and ability in one-v-one situations would give Celtic another threat in the final third.
The fee being mentioned would not be cheap, and with other clubs involved, this is not a simple one. But the claim that Celtic are pushing hard makes it one to follow closely as the club’s summer business starts to move.

Just bloody well sign him and stop the crap talk.
