Kelechi Iheanacho has reportedly reached an agreement to join Bursaspor, potentially bringing an end to Celtic’s attempts to re-sign the striker.
Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün claims the 29-year-old has agreed terms on a three-year contract with the Turkish club.

However, the report represents a major development after weeks of uncertainty surrounding Iheanacho’s future.
The Nigerian is currently a free agent following the expiry of his Celtic contract at the end of June. Celtic did not activate the option contained in his previous agreement, leaving the two parties needing to negotiate an entirely new deal for him to return.
Martin O’Neill confirmed earlier this week that Celtic had submitted an offer to Iheanacho and were waiting to see how the situation developed.
Bursaspor had already been credited with holding discussions over a move, but Süzgün’s latest information suggests those talks may now have produced a three-year agreement. Earlier Turkish reports had placed the club among the leading contenders for his signature.
Iheanacho became an important figure during Celtic’s successful run-in last season, contributing decisive goals as O’Neill’s side recovered to win the league and Scottish Cup double.
His performances led to calls for Celtic to secure his return, while O’Neill made no secret of his desire to work with the former Manchester City and Leicester City forward again.
The delay in reaching an agreement left the door open for other clubs, with Iheanacho continuing his preparations away from Celtic while the Hoops began their pre-season schedule.
Unless Celtic make a late breakthrough, Bursaspor now appear to have moved into pole position.
The reported three-year agreement remains subject to official confirmation, but it could mean Iheanacho’s Scottish Cup final appearance was his last in a Celtic shirt.
