Celtic “Interested” in Lazio Duo – Serie A Giants “Open to Offers”

Celtic are reportedly keeping tabs on Lazio attackers Gustav Isaksen and Matteo Cancellieri as Martin O’Neill looks to add more quality to his forward options.

Italian journalist Lorenzo Canicchio claims the Hoops appreciate both players, although there does not appear to be anything advanced at this stage.

According to Canicchio, Lazio are prepared to listen to offers across their squad, with Celtic among the clubs showing interest in the attacking pair.

There is no suggestion that Celtic have opened talks, made an offer or reached any agreement for either player.

At this stage, the report points only to admiration from the Scottish champions, with Cancellieri appearing the more realistic of the two should his situation become active again.

A valuation of around €15 million would still represent a significant investment for Celtic, although the claim that Lazio may lower that figure could make the situation more interesting later in the window.

Both players would add another option in the wide areas, while also giving O’Neill more flexibility across the front line.

Celtic are continuing to assess several attacking targets, and it would be no surprise to see more names linked before the window closes.

For now, Isaksen and Cancellieri can be added to the list of players admired by the club rather than treated as active negotiations.

The next step would need to come from Celtic themselves, whether through direct talks with Lazio or a formal approach for one of the two attackers.
