Joe Hart says he is excited for the Glasgow Derby on Sunday, as Celtic return to Ibrox for the second time in seven days.
It was shaping up to be a horror show last Sunday. 2-0 down at halftime with no sign of a comeback. But some tweaks at half-time and the introduction of Reo Hatate saw Celtic come out of the traps flying.
Tierney got one back for the Hoops, and the pressure was piling on the Rangers’ defence. After chances and saves from Butland, Celtic were awarded a penalty, and on the second rebound, Hatate got the Hoops level.
Into added time, Celtic were chasing a winner, but it didn’t come. On another day they leave 3-2 winners, at least.
The scruffle at the end added some extra bite heading into this weekend’s tie.
Former Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart is looking forward to this tie.
The stopper, who has many fond memories of the derby in his three-year Celtic career, has watched Celtic closely this season, especially in Europe.
Speaking to the BBC, he said:
“If it’s anything like what went on on Sunday just gone, then it’s going to be an absolute barnstormer again.
“I’m excited. The first half scared me – it did – and then the second half made me feel a lot better about my allegiances.
“I care about what goes on on the field. I saw the fight on Sunday, and they managed to get that draw away at Ibrox.”
Hopefully, that fight that Hart saw last week in the second half carries into this week, and Celtic put in a good performance from the off, with the backing of 8,000 fans in the extended away end.
