Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand are edging closer to full fitness after featuring in a behind-closed-doors match today.
Both players got some valuable minutes as they continue their recovery, although details of the opposition remain unconfirmed, reports CeltsMedia.
It’s the latest step in their return.
Last week, the pair also featured in a similar fixture against Ayr United, with Johnston playing 20 minutes and Osmand getting 45 and even getting himself on the scoresheet.
That progression suggests both are on track.
And it opens the door for involvement this weekend.
Martin O’Neill could have the duo available for the bench when Falkirk visit Celtic Park on Saturday evening, offering a timely boost as the title run-in begins.
It’s much-needed quality returning at a crucial moment.
Anthony Ralston played well on Sunday at Hampden Park, and if he was awarded Man of the Match, no one would have raised an eyebrow. But you can’t deny that having someone of his quality back is massive for the next Sox games, with the double still available to Celtic.
Osmand could force his way into Martin O’Neill’s thoughts. The gaffer is clearly not too happy with his striking options and has reservations about starting Iheanacho, despite his recent goalscoring form.
Both players will hope to be ready when called upon.

yes Ralston did play well cause hes had a few games and his fitness is up to it if your not played it affects your touch and confidence him and yaang has not played together much and it showed in both players form reason why so many subistutes score for Celtic is the starting Eleven and O’Neil tactics of playing the ball forward and backward it takes the energy out of opistion and our subistute are higher class than theres and take advantage of tired legs and weaker players
