Jota was back at Celtic Park on matchday as the Hoops faced St Mirren, with the winger spotted in the stands alongside several first-team players.
The Portuguese attacker has been out long-term with a knee injury and has yet to feature this season. His recovery has kept him away from matchday squads, but his presence at the stadium did not go unnoticed.
He was seen sitting beside Julian Araujo and Cameron Carter-Vickers, with Alistair Johnston, Colby Donovan and Dane Murray also close by. It was a reminder of how many players are currently working their way back.
Celtic picked up a narrow win on the pitch, but moments like this off it still draw attention, especially when it involves someone like Jota who has been out for so long.
One fan online suggested that Jota’s appearance could point to the next stage of his recovery, with the winger possibly set to step up his training at Lennoxtown. Reports have suggested he has been doing work away from the main group up to now.
Jota is back in Glasgow at the game! Must be ready to step up his training… Sitting beside Julian Araujo! CCV also there! The Bhoys are Back in Town (and if the Bhoys wanna fight you better let ’em) pic.twitter.com/qbRflYylwo

That remains speculation, but it shows the level of interest in his progress. Supporters are watching closely for any sign that he is getting nearer to a return.
Celtic’s attack has had to adapt without him. Yang and Maeda have taken on more of the workload out wide, often relying on pace and direct running.
Jota brings a different option. He keeps the ball in tight spaces and can create openings when teams sit deep. That has been missing throughout this season.
For now, he remains on the sidelines, but being back at Celtic Park keeps him close to the squad.
As the season moves on, any step forward in his recovery will be followed closely, even if a return before the end of the campaign still looks unlikely.

Just stop writing sbout players thstvaren’t going to feature this season. Yes, I am glad that Jota & some of our other crocks are seen at games supporting the team. But that’s it! None if them are going to feature in the run-in. Let’s just stay focused on that.
