Julian Araujo has opened the door to a permanent move to Celtic after a brilliant start to life in Glasgow.

The Mexican right-back arrived on loan from Bournemouth in January and has already made his mark, with a dramatic late winner at Rugby Park on Sunday. That goal, deep into stoppage time, showed why Celtic brought him in. He offers energy down the right, recovery pace, and a willingness to attack the back post.

Celtic’s fixtures have been relentless. League games are stacking up alongside Europe, and rotation has been needed. Araujo has slotted in quickly. He has pushed high when asked, tucked in narrow when required, and shown he can handle the intensity of Scottish football.

There is no option to buy written into his loan deal, but his early impact has sparked talk about whether that could change. The player himself is not shutting anything down.

He said: (TCW), “Football is crazy. You know, anything can happen.

“Right now, I have a contract with Bournemouth, but I’m on loan here for the first six months, and I’m happy.

“I’m enjoying every moment. I’m grateful for this opportunity. And you never know. Anything can happen.

“I let my agent take care of the negotiations and whatever behind the scenes. You know, I just focus on my game and try to give my best for this crest. Whatever football brings me, God is in control of my plans. So I’m following his lead.”

For now, Celtic’s focus is on the run-in. The title race is tight and the Europa League will bring a different test. Araujo’s role will only grow if he keeps performing.

Araujo clearly suits the way Celtic play. Full-backs are asked to cover ground and support attacks. He has shown he can do that without losing defensive solidity.

If that continues, the question will move from possibility to priority. For now, he is here, he is playing, and he has made it clear he is enjoying every minute in green and white.
