Junior Adamu has spoken for the first time since joining Celtic on Deadline Day. He’s outlined his personal ambitions, as well as what fans can expect from him in Glasgow.
The 24-year-old was officially announced by the club on Monday evening, joining on loan from SC Freiburg with an option to buy in the summer.
He was the first of three new arrivals, with Joel Mvuka and Benjamin Arthur announced later. It took Celtic’s total signing count to five over the January window after Julian Araujo and Tomas Cvancara; all five are loan deals.
Adamu has featured more often in the Europa League for Freiburg this season than he has in the Bundesliga, netting once in each competition.
His arrival offers another option up top for the Hoops, a position that clearly needed to be addressed in January.
The Austrian international has stated his intentions of giving his absolute best for the club, while outlining his ambitions beyond that.

“Winning titles and scoring many goals so I can help, then we’ll see what will happen.”
Aside from the obvious, Adamu also gave an insight into his own game, and how that can benefit this Celtic team:
“My intensity, I can run a lot. I’m very dangerous in the box, and try to defend also,” he said.
He’s eager to make his way back into the Austrian national team ahead of this summer:
“It’s one of my goals. I will try to give my best so I can be at the World Cup.”
Adamu will likely remain down the pecking order for now, but he’ll be given a chance to shine. He trained at Lennoxtown ahead of tomorrow (Wednesday) night’s away fixture against Aberdeen.
If he scores on his debut, expect a chant to be made in his honour. Though it may take him time to settle into life in Glasgow.
