Celtic remain in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, with at least one new striker expected to arrive at Parkhead.
Depending on how the rest of the transfer window unfolds, Martin O’Neill could even look to add two forwards to his squad.
A host of names have been linked with the Scottish champions in recent weeks.
Qarabag striker Camilo Duran is among them, although reports suggest Celtic have already seen an opening bid rejected for the Colombian.
Another player to emerge in the conversation is Kieron Bowie.
The Scottish forward only completed a move to Italy in January but has impressed during the second half of the season, leading to fresh speculation over his future.
Celtic have previously shown interest in the 23-year-old, but there appears to have been little movement in recent months.
According to journalist Scott Burns, there has been no recent contact from Parkhead regarding a potential move.
That does not necessarily mean Celtic’s interest has disappeared.
It simply suggests Bowie is not currently one of the club’s active negotiations.
His stock has continued to rise since moving abroad.
After joining for around £6 million in January, the striker is now reportedly attracting attention from clubs in both the Bundesliga and Serie A, with his valuation said to have climbed to around £10 million.
That would represent a significant investment for Celtic.
Whether the club would be prepared to spend that kind of money remains to be seen, particularly with other striker targets also under consideration.
