Celtic legend Jim Craig is set to be honoured with a statue in Govan after a new campaign was officially launched.
The announcement comes just weeks after fellow Lisbon Lion Tommy Gemmell had his statue unveiled in Craigneuk and now attention has turned to another Parkhead great.
The Jim Craig Govan Foundation revealed plans to erect a tribute to the 82-year-old in the area where he grew up.
Sculptor John McKenna has also been brought on board for the project.
Craig’s place in Celtic folklore is already secured.
Jim Craig was at Grace’s this afternoon for the launch of a campaign to build a statue of the Lisbon Lion in Govan.

The right-back provided one of the most iconic moments in the club’s history when he squared the ball across the edge of the Inter Milan box for Tommy Gemmell to fire home the equaliser in the 1967 European Cup Final.
Celtic would go on to win 2-1, with Stevie Chalmers grabbing the historic winner as the Hoops became the first British side to lift the European Cup.
Craig made 231 appearances for Celtic, winning seven league titles, four Scottish Cups, three League Cups and that unforgettable night in Lisbon on May 25, 1967.
Still heavily involved with the club as an ambassador, Craig also enjoyed a successful career as a dentist.
Now, with plans in motion, Govan looks set to pay tribute to one of its most famous sons.

Be a grand gesture fur Jim Craig, Alex Ferguson, whilst they are goin, tae unveil a statue of both them and Joe McBride kicking a can aboot a bit of cobblestone, next tae tha Lyceum film theatre, where they watched their movies and dreamed in squalor.
