Luis Palma’s future looks increasingly likely to lie away from Celtic, but the destination may not be as straightforward as it appeared a few weeks ago.
Lech Poznań had looked to be in pole position to sign the Honduran winger after his successful loan spell in Poland. Palma became a regular in their side and played an important role as they pushed towards the title.
The problem has been agreeing a fee.
Reports in recent hours have suggested Lech were attempting to lower the cost of a permanent transfer, despite holding an option to buy. That has left the situation unresolved as the summer window begins to gather pace.
Now another club has entered the conversation.
Palma joined Celtic from Aris Thessaloniki in 2023 for around £3.5 million. His first season included flashes of quality, including his memorable Champions League goal against Atletico Madrid, but he eventually found himself searching for regular football elsewhere.

The Sevilla interest changes the picture.
Lech’s position was strengthened when they were the obvious destination for Palma. The winger was settled, playing every week and enjoying his football again.
That becomes a different negotiation if clubs from one of Europe’s major leagues are looking at the same player.
The next few weeks will reveal whether Sevilla’s interest develops into something more concrete.
What is already clear is that Palma’s strong season in Poland has created options. Lech still want him, but they may no longer be the only club capable of offering him a route away from Celtic this summer.
