Celtic’s 3–1 win over Feyenoord in Rotterdam has already been hailed as one of the club’s most significant European away nights in years, but the scale of the achievement becomes even clearer when viewed through the numbers.
The victory at De Kuip was not only crucial for this season’s Europa League campaign, it also placed Celtic’s long-term European away record in sharp focus. Since reaching that UEFA Cup final in Seville under O’Neill, Celtic have struggled badly on their travels in Europe, producing only a handful of meaningful wins.
