Celtic have announced that Martin O’Neill will remain in charge for next season, with the option of a further year.
The news first emerged last week, though an official announcement from the club has only just arrived.
O’Neill guided Celtic to their fifth consecutive league title as part of the most recent league and Scottish Cup double last month.
Among his many achievements, the 74-year-old was the first manager to deliver a domestic Treble for Celtic in 32 years, when he did so in his first season in charge back in 2001.

Last season, he drove the club to its 56th Premiership title by winning the last seven league matches and rounding off one of the most dramatic Scottish seasons by securing his fourth and Celtic’s 43rd Scottish Cup victory.
Celtic supporters were eagerly awaiting an official update, and now it’s here.
Work will now begin ahead of this summer’s rebuild as the Hoops look likely to lose key players, as well as needing more quality in the door.
Further updates are to come regarding his backroom staff, but for now, O’Neill has been confirmed to be the man at the helm for next season.
