Martin O’Neill was spotted enjoying some downtime in Glasgow on Monday evening as Celtic continue preparations for the new Premiership season.
With less than two weeks until the champions begin the defence of their league title, O’Neill took a brief break from pre-season work by visiting one of his favourite restaurants.
He’s no stranger to the place, pictured there multiple times since arriving back in Glasgow last season.
The Celtic manager was seen dining alongside Scottish singer Marti Pellow at La Lanterna West End.
It comes during a crucial period for Celtic.
The Hoops are edging ever closer to the start of the new campaign but remain active in the transfer market, with supporters still waiting for further additions to Martin O’Neill’s squad.
Camilo Duran remains the club’s only new signing of the summer, while several players have already departed Parkhead.
There is also continued uncertainty surrounding Daizen Maeda, with reports suggesting a move to Ipswich Town is moving closer.
A figure of £10m has been agreed.
Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, O’Neill appeared to enjoy a relaxed evening at La Lanterna West End, one of Glasgow’s most popular Italian restaurants.
Joining him was Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow, with the pair pictured together during the visit.
As Celtic’s preparations for the new season continue, O’Neill will soon turn his full attention back to matters on the pitch as the club look to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes.
