Tawanda Maswanhise has confirmed he will sit down with his agent in the coming weeks, with his future up in the air following a standout season at Motherwell.
The winger was linked with a move to Celtic during the January window, as the Hoops looked to strengthen in wide areas.
Those links didn’t materialise at the time, but they haven’t disappeared.
Maswanhise has been one of the league’s most productive attackers this season, scoring 17 goals and adding two assists in 31 Premiership appearances.
He started in Motherwell’s 3-2 win over Rangers at the weekend, which saw Celtic end the gameweek in second place.
Now, he’s preparing to assess his next move.
Speaking about his future, he said: “If a team wants you, you’ve just got to show them why they want you, but that shouldn’t be the main focus.
“You’ve just got to keep working then when the summertime’s here, off season, you can really look at your options.
“I always think about my future. I love my future because it’s exciting. With the achievements I’ve had this year, there’s more on the table for me, so we’ll see.
“I’ll probably speak to my agent in the next few weeks. Not long until the season ends now.” [RecordSport]
It’s a measured response from the attacker, not giving much away in terms of his future.
Maswanhise knows that interest is building in him.
And with Celtic expected to revisit their wide options in the summer, his name is one that could resurface.
For now, though, the focus for Celtic remains on finishing the season strongly.
After that, decisions will be made with a new manager in the building with new ideas.
One linked to the job is his current gaffer Jens Berthel Askou. He’s had a terrific first season at Motherwell and is someone the Parkhead decision-makers could take a look at.
