Celtic Chief Executive Michael Nicholson has spoken out to congratulate Martin O’Neill after the manager brought up 1,000 matches in professional football.

Close to a third of O’Neill’s games have been in charge of Celtic, going back to his first spell when his team made real runs in Europe and set the standard at home. That period still shapes how people at the club see him.
