Neil Lennon has specifically challenged Andy Walker’s take on the Dubai debacle and made it clear that anybody questioning his or his players professionalism is insulting the club.

At a fiery presser, the Celtic manager seemed to have a lot to get off his chest.

Celtic fans have been the ones living through this whole mess and most want to see humility from the Celtic boss. However, his wrath was set firmly on critics who described Dubai as a jaunt and questioned what they were doing there.

He told RecordSport: “You can’t go on a public platform and spread lies and insults about my professionalism, my players’ professionalism.

“About 70-80 per cent of the group are teetotal and you know the inference and innuendo that he is making.

“It is not a stag do, it isn’t an ’18-30′ even though it has been portrayed like that.

“We went out there with the best intentions

“The lads had one day off and they are entitled to a bit of down time.”

Celtic have put themselves in the firing line. Fans are quick to defend the club over external criticism. Hell, even we have experienced first hand fans defending the club against our internal criticism. But there’s not that many people willing to back the managers response today because it lacks a basic understanding of how the majority of the support feel at this moment.
