The aftermath of Celtic’s penalty shootout win over Rangers will continue to play out over the next few weeks.

8th March 2026; Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, Scotland; Scottish Cup Football, Rangers versus Celtic;

It’s no surprise that it’s gathering the attention of the media, especially with the scenes after the match.

But you’d expect the media to at least get their facts right.

On Monday night’s STV News, they were showing ‘damage’ to the stadium. They were picking up on the broken seats, that they said was caused by Celtic fans.

But, it was actually the Copland Road Stand, where the Union Bears sit. The ‘ultras’ that sought to attack Celtic fans and they ran onto the pitch, while the away fans were celebrating their penalty shootout win.

Gordon Chee’s voice-over at the start of the package said it was “obvious” from the aerial view that seats in the away end were broken. But that aerial view that he was talking about was actually showing the home end.

A massive blooper from STV.

The SFA are investigating what went on at the game, and that inquiry could take up to two weeks.

Meanwhile, Police Scotland has confirmed that they have made nine arrests, but expect more to be made over the coming days and weeks.

  1. I love the comment,
    “The SFA are investigating what went on at the game, and that inquiry could take up to two weeks.”
    What this translates to is, “it could take authorities up to two weeks to manipulate the facts enough to be able to implicate Celtic fans as the REAL cause, and NOT the masked home thugs who cleared the barriers, charged the full length of the field, many with lighted flares which they threw into the Celtic fans” “these home fans should be cleaned of all wrongdoing at all costs at the order of our Lodges”
    I think we get it by now!
